How Can We Withdraw PF Amount |

Easy Steps To Withdraw PF Amount| Online EPF Withdrawal

EPF i.e. Employee Provident Fund or simply PF is your life saving. It is your retirement corpus which will be useful in your non-working years. So every effort should be made not to withdraw PF amount unless it is quite necessary. You should think about PF withdrawal only after retirement. I insist on this due to the following four reasons:

  1. PF is considered as your retirement fund and it can make your retirement life stress free. You need not worry about the daily expenses in your retired phase.
  2. If you withdraw PF amount before completing 5 years of continuous service, you will have to pay tax. PF withdrawal is tax free only after at least 5 years of opening the EPF account.
  3. If you switch job, you can easily transfer your existing PF account to your new company.
  4. Even after your early retirement (from job), you can remain invested in EPF. Your PF account will earn interest up to your 58 years of age.

UAN Has Made Easy The Process Of PF Amount Withdrawal

This has become a reality after UAN i.e. Universal Account Number coming into action. Now every EPF account holder has provided a UAN which doesn’t change life long. Online PF withdrawal facility is available through the UAN member portal. You can use this portal with the help of your UAN and password. If you login for the first time, you can generate a new password.

You must know that How Can You Get Your UAN.

Remember that your Aadhaar number should be linked with your UAN. And before submitting the claim form to withdraw PF amount, ensure that the bank account details are updated. Earlier there were 3 different claim forms for 3 different purposes.

a. PF Final Settlement (Form19)
b. Pension Withdrawal Benefit (Form10-C), and
c. PF Part Withdrawal (Form31) from the Member Interface directly.

Withdraw PF Amount With Composite Claim Form

Now to make PF withdrawal you will need to fill the new Composite Claim Form. There are two types of form:- 1) Composite Claim Form (Aadhaar) and 2) Composite Claim Form (Non-Aadhaar). Non-Aadhaar claim form will be submitted by those, whose Aadhaar is not seeded with UAN.  These subscribers would need to have their claims forms attested by the employer before submission to EPFO.

(1) The member should have activated his/her Universal Account Number. The mobile number used for activating UAN should be in the working condition.
(2) Member’s AADHAAR details should be seeded in EPFO database. He should avail OTP facility for verifying eKYC from UIDAI while submitting the claim.
(3) Member’s Bank Account along with IFSC code should be seeded in EPFO database.

(4) PAN should be seeded in EPFO database for PF Final Settlement Claims in case his/her service is less than 5 years.

Conditions For PF Final Settlement

If you are going to withdraw PF amount after Final Settlement, you should keep these points in mind:-
(1) Your Date of Joining and Date of Exit should be available in the EPFO Database.
(2) You should not be working presently in any company under PF Act. You can be self-employed or working in a company who does not come under PF Act.
(3) The Claim should be submitted not before two months after leaving the job.

Conditions For Pension Withdrawal Benefit Claim

If you are claiming pension benefit, you should also fulfill the following two additional points:-

(1) Your total service should be more than 6 months.

(2) You must have not completed the 9.5 years as a PF account holder. After this period, you can not claim pension just after leaving the job unless your age is 50 years or above.

Conditions For Part PF Withdrawal

As you know that you can also partially withdraw PF amount balance during your job. But there are certain conditions for this. If you fulfill these conditions, you can claim part PF withdrawal.  PF Amount Withdrawal: The process

Following is the process for online claim submission in order to withdraw PF amount.

  1. Login to the member interface using UAN credentials. The path of the portal is https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/. You will need your UAN as well as password for login. If you forgot your password, just reset it.
  2. After login, check that whether your KYC and service eligibility conditions mentioned there are correct or not. If those are not correct or incomplete, do the needful to correct them before proceeding further.
  3. If the details are correct, you should now select the relevant claim.
  4. As you click on the Claim, you need to authenticate using OTP. This OTP will be received on the mobile number registered with UIDAI. After submitting the OTP, now you should complete the online claim submission.

After submission of claim to withdraw PF amount, you will get a confirmation copy which you can save for future use. You can also track your claim status at this very UAN portal.

PF Amount Withdrawal: Points To Remember

Remember that you will get the payment from EPFO for your PF claim only into the bank account registered with it. If, for any reason, you want to use some other bank account to get the claim, you should not submit the claim online.  You should use the physical process of PF withdrawal instead. Or you have the option to get the bank account details changed through your current employer before filing online claim process.

One more thing, online claim process to withdraw PF amount is not available to those who do not have Aadhaar. The non-Aadhaar composite claim form needs more information like date of birth, father’s name and bank account details. Apart from your signature, it has to be certified by your employer as well. So I would suggest you to link your PF account with Aadhaar so that your EPF withdrawal becomes hassle free.

I hope that you would have now a clear picture about the PF amount withdrawal process. If you have any doubt, question or problem related with EPF withdrawal, do write to me.

    Hi Dheeraj,

i have applied for PF withdrawal on 15/11/2018 ..still the status is showing as under process..its been more than 15 days..When it will be settled. From April 2018 to september 2018 i was not in a job. i have joined in a new organization on october 2018.is it possible to get a full pf amount..

    • dheeraj

      Hi Veena,
If you are in employment, you can’t withdraw the full PF amount. You have the option to withdraw only partial amount from your PF Account. But if you would have applied just 2 months after leaving your previous job (and remained unemployed till that date), you would have got the full PF.
So far delay in process is concerned, truth is that EPFO is not known for processing the applications efficiently and quickly. So you have no other option but to wait for the EPFO department to process your request soon.

    Hello Sir,

I had two epf account as i worked with two different company but i have joned both the accounts and applied for withdrawal and the approval was done on the EPFO part.

First time there was status which said NEFT made Aug 6th 2018 but got returned unpaid for some unkown reason.

They asked me to apply again for the withdrawal and i did the same but again it showed the status transfer made by NEFT on 8th October 2018 but again the transfer didnt come through and the money got returned unpaid again.

COuld you kindly help understand as to why is the transfer been unsucessful, is it because i have given my personal account bank details which is not the account i used while working as i have shut that account.

Kindly assist me with the same.

    Thank you

    • dheeraj

      Hi Ashpreet,

You must check the details of the bank account seeded with your PF account. If the previous seeded bank account is closed, you must provide the details of the new bank account.

  • D C Bhargava

My daughter is 38 years old. She left work in June 2016 to go abroad. She wishes to withdraw her EPS along with PF. Is it possible to withdraw EPS now or does she have to wait till she is 50 years old?

    DC Bhargava

    • dheeraj

      Hello Mr. Bhargava,
As per EPFO rules, one is allowed to withdraw the EPS amount only if the service period has been less than 10 years and not later on. Once the period of 10 years is over, the employee can’t withdraw the EPS amount and s/he compulsorily gets pension benefits after retirement.
If you have already completed 10 years of service, you can get EPS scheme certificate by filling Form 10C along with the Composite Claim Form (Aadhaar or Non-Aadhaar). Pension is to be paid from age 58 while a reduced pension can be paid from age 50. You can opt for early pension (reduced proportionately) after 50 years.

    Hello Sir
I left my job in August 2017 and on database my exit date is not updated.
How can I withdraw/transfer full amount to my bank account and how can i check the full amount including the interest.

    • dheeraj

      Hi Kamlesh,
To withdraw/transfer your PF amount, your database must have date of exit (DoE) and if that is left blank, the online submission of withdrawal form will not be possible. You must contact your previous employer and request to update the date of exit.

I have submitted PF online on 14th June however still the status is “under process”. How many days will it take to get approved/settled status?. Also i didnt receive any SMS so far.

      Hi Sathya,
The processing of the PF withdrawal or transfer application depends on the regional PF office’s efficiency as well as the workload. But, in general, the processing takes time. I hope that by now, your work would have been completed.

  • Sovana Dalai Pattnaik

Sir namaste. I’m Sovana Dalai. I stopped working after I got married in the year 2012. I worked for American Express, Delhi for nearly 2 years.

My name is changed after marriage. I got my Aadhar, PAN, Bank Account, etc as per my new name. I have a Marriage Certificate.

I have my details about Emp Code, DOJ, DOL, PF Account number. My overall PF service is less than 2 year ie between 2010 and 2012.

Kindly advise the Process for claiming PF and EPS. This query is particularly with reference to change of maiden name.

I pinning my hope on you for your valuable advice and guidance.

    Regards,
    Sovana Dalai Pattnaik

    • dheeraj

      Hi Sovana,
Your query is a bit complex. So far the issue of name change is concerned, EPFO has made a provision for changing the name of EPF members in the application software. Members who wish to get their name to be changed in the EPF Database can apply for the same through their employer along with supporting documents. So, if you are working somewhere else, you can take the help of your HR to sort out this issue. Please remember that if you want to change or correct name, you alone cannot do this. Request from Employer as well as Employee for Changing the name of the Employee is required. I advice you to contact Local EPFO field office for requesting the name change along with supporting documents.
You should have the following documents (not necessary all) ready for this purpose:-
PAN card, Driver’s license, Passport, Voters ID card, ESIC ID card, Aadhaar card, Bank or post office passbook, Certificates related to schools and education, Copy of a phone or electricity or a water bill that has your name on it, marriage certificate.
Please let me know if you come across any other issue after doing this.
      Best wishes

  • Venkat Satyesh

    Hi Sir,

I have joined my second company and my new company has created my new PF account and my request for PF transfer is in process, it might get credited into my new PF account anytime, but the EPS from my previous company is still pending. My previous company is saying contact your current employer as your UAN is mapped to present employer, when contacted to present employer they are saying contact your previous employer. So i am struck how to proceed and either withdraw or transfer my EPS from my previous company.

    Regards
    Satyesh

    • dheeraj

      Hi Venkat,
When the PF transfer request is completed, the passbook of your current PF account reflects a lump sum addition in the month of transfer, but the EPS column shows zero addition. Instead, the PF passbook of your previous organisation reflects the EPS amount. While service details are transferred from an older to a new account, the EPS amount is retained in the older account. Transfer of service details helps keep a track of number of years of work a subscriber has put in. So if you are in your fourth job, and have consolidated your EPF in your new account, your EPS amount for the three earlier employers will reflect in the respective PF passbooks. After working for more than 10 years, you are eligible for pension. If you have worked for less than 10 years, and are unemployed for more than two months, you can withdraw the EPS amount.
      Best wishes

  • Chandan Dixit

Hello sir , I have one uan and two accounts.my date of exit of previous company is 30.11.2017. but I joined another company on 11.01 2018. My query is. Can I withdraw my pf from my previous account? If i can’t ,can I withdraw my pf of both account after my resignation of current company.

    • dheeraj

      Hi Chandan,
You can have single UAN and two separate PF accounts. But you can’t withdraw the full PF amount if you are in job. When you are retired, or you are not in service for at least 2 months in a stretch, you can think about withdrawing the full PF amount. But you can withdraw partial amount (subject to some conditions) anytime from your EPF account. For more details, you should consult your HR department.

    Hi, Dheeraj
I left my previous employer on 2nd dec 2017 and joined new organization on 28th dec 2017. I want to withdraw complete PF amount, so am i eligible to claim to withdraw my complete PF amount? UAN no. given to me by my previous employer is different from the UAN no. provided by my new employer, so would it create any problem when i will link my aadhar to the both UANs?

    Thanks in advance

    • dheeraj

      Hi Pankaj,
You can’t withdraw the full EPF amount as you need not to be in job for at least 2 months after leaving the previous employer. So far your UAN is concerned, it can’t be doubled. So check with your employer and do the necessary corrections.

I made a decision to withdraw my pf amount due to some personal reasons. I have two accounts for a single UAN number. I am trying to withdraw and I see that the withdrawal is for the current account is getting displayed where I am working at present. The previous employers PF account is not getting displayed under withdrawal section. I see that they have not updated below information:

Is it that they have to update these information and then I can withdraw??

      Hi Amit,

        Hello Dheeraj,

My claim was only partially settled which I had applied for 2lacs, I received only 120900 on 29/12/2017. My account balance was 290000/-. Now I see in the online claim status as claim is settled. And the settled amount is only taken from employee contribution and not from employer contribution while I checked my passbook. Will it happens like this often. Or else they will settle it soon after or what…? Please advice on this…

        Thanks,
        jaison

        • dheeraj

          Hi Jaiosn,
According to the new rule of PF withdrawal, the employer’s contribution and interest accumulated remains locked till you turn 58. So, in my opinion, you would have got the maximum eligible amount which was available for your partial withdrawal. For more information, you can contact the EPFO office and file your grievance at http://epfigms.gov.in/.

    1). what documents w.r.t home loan i should upload/submit ?

2). how much time it takes to get the money into my account ? (one of the queries u mentioned it as 10 working days. is it possible to get early if i go to pf office directly. i mean any faster methods than this?)

3). does it include all 3 (i.e employee contribution, employer contribution and pension scheme) ?

4).i will complete 5 years in service by next year february. i have changed 3 comapnies in between (with all linked to single uan). does 5 years of service here refers to accumulated service or service in single company ?

5). how much percentage of total money i can withdraw for home loan ?

    waiting for your answer. Thanks

    • dheeraj

      Hi Abna,
EPFO has allowed members to use 90 percent of EPF accumulations to make down payments to buy houses and use their accounts for paying EMIs of home loans. But only those members are eligible for this who have completed 3 years as a PF member. Since you are completing 5 years of service, you are well within the eligibility limit of the scheme.
Remember that EPFO will be making the payments directly to the co-operative society, state government, central government, or any housing agency under any housing scheme, or any promoter or builder, in one or more instalments, as the case maybe. The maximum amount that can be withdrawn is up to 90 percent of the balance in the PF account or the cost of acquisition of the property, whichever is less. The balance will include members own share of contribution plus interest and employer’s share of contribution plus interest. So the contribution towards pension scheme will not be part of this.
For more details about it, you can read the following news piece.
      https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/wealth/earn/here-is-the-step-by-step-process-to-withdraw-90-of-your-pf-to-buy-home/articleshow/58595389.cms

    Dear Dheeraj,

Thank you for simply describing the process. I have following queries. Kindly reply.

    1. Under KYC, my Bank, PAN and Adhaar are digitally approved, however, under Home tab, at the right hand side under “Member Profile” , PAN row is empty and shows three red dash marks. Why is it so?

    2. Under service history my last employer has not updated my last day of working, and I tried contacting them but they aren’t cooperating with me in updating the same. How can I possibly claim the full amount in that case?

I will be grateful if you answer my queries.

    Thanks

    • Sunny

      Dear Dheeraj,

To add to my above query, I would like to mention that Under Online Claim all other details are mentioned, but PAN no. row says “NOT AVAILABLE ( Pan Not Available TDS Deduction @34.60% Applicable More Details. )”

    • dheeraj

      Hi Sunny,
You will require to request your employer to update date of exit. Without this, it would not be possible for you to withdraw the money. So far PAN issue is concerned, try to link it with your PF details online. If you are facing any problem in this, you can contact the PF department at the following details:-
      UAN Helpdesk Number : 18001-18005
UAN Helpdesk Email Id : uanepf@epfindia.gov.in
Please avail their services for your queries.

    Hi Team,
My last working day is 15-june-2017 and i have submitted my complete pf withdrawal documents to my employer as requested in their portal.
My PF form status is kept as “FORM READY FOR SUBMISSION TO PF OFFICE” in my employer’s portal on 24-Oct-2017.
When I raise a requests and ask for status of my PF form, they reply as
    1. “Hi, Your form status is FORM READY FOR SUBMISSION TO PF OFFICE. “We are facing challenges as the PF office has set restrictions on the number of PF form submission to low numbers. We are in the process of clearing the outstanding claims and your claim form will be submitted on first come first basis and the acknowledgement of the submission will be shared through an automated mail on your personal email id registered”
    2. “Dear Associate, Please note that RPFC is a Govt office over which XXXX has no control. We are trying in the process of clearing the form as soon as possible from our end”

Kindly suggest me on this issue how to proceed further.

    • dheeraj

      Hi Prathap,
From your query, it seems that your previous employer hasn’t co-operated fully in your effort to withdraw the PF balance. If you have all the documents and information ready, you can apply for PF withdrawal on your own. You do not require the help of your employer now, if you apply through PF website. My advice to you is to please read the article http://moneyinvestingidea.com/withdraw-pf-amount-easily/ once again carefully and follow the procedure mentioned in that. I believe that you will be able to do it successfully. If you come across any problem, do let me know. I will try to help you, if I can.

But I need to apply full PF Withdrawal.

Your suggestion is required to complete my PF Withdrawal.

        Thanks & Regards,
        Prathap.

        • dheeraj

          Hi Prathap,
It is possible that your previous company may not have updated your PF records due to which full PF withdrawal option is not shown. Actually, for full withdrawal, the company has to mention Date Of Exit as well. I think once again you should request your previous company to fulfill their responsibilities towards your PF account.

      Dear sir

I want to know that online pf withdrawal takes how much time and if i request for advance that can i take the whole amount that i seen in my UAN portal e.g.

My share company share and pension scheme total 20000
Can i take whole 20000 in advance
      Please help

      • dheeraj

        Hi Vinay,
Online PF withdrawal will be completed in 10 working days (as claimed by EPFO) if all of your documentations are in order. But you can’t withdraw the whole amount if you are still in job. Full withdrawal is possible only if you are out of job and without employment for at least 2 months. If you are in job, you can withdraw only partially but remember that if you wouldn’t have completed 5 years of service, the PF withdrawal will be taxable.

Dear sir thanks for your help
Sir i was leave my previous job befor 1 year back but when i am trying to withdrawal my pf amount through online withdrawal mode then it shows me only advance so my questions is can i take the whole amount as advance through this please help

          • dheeraj

            Hi Vinay,
Full withdrawal of PF amount is possible only if (a) you are not in employment and (b) you have completed 2 months after leaving job. So, even though you left your previous job one year back, but if you have started working in a new organisation, you can’t withdraw the full amount. An EPFO subscriber can take advance from EPF deposits for purposes such as purchase/construction of house, repayment of loan, non-receipt of wage for 2 months, for marriage of self/daughter/son/brother, for medical treatment of family member etc. For each type of partial withdrawal/advance, the amount varies and the employee needs to meet specific criteria to be eligible for the advance.

          • dheeraj

            Hi Vinay,
You can claim the full PF amount only if you are either retired or have left the job at least 2 months back and still unemployed. So far pension is concerned, you can withdraw it if you have not completed 10 years of service. If you complete the 10 years, you can’t withdraw the money. You will get pension only at the retirement.

            Hi Vinay,
You should contact the EPFO for your grievance. They can be of some help. Please visit http://epfigms.gov.in/http://epfigms.gov.in/ for registering your complaint. But it may also be due to the reason that your date of exit is not mentioned there. Please check it and if DOE is not there, you should contact your previous employer to update it.

  • Reina

    Hi

I have been allotted two UAN numbers.

I have worked in three companies .My first company had provided me a UAN .

Though I provided my UAN to my second company, they created a new UAN.

Without knowing that my second company had created a new UAN,
I joined a third company to which I provided my first UAN. Hence, the third company is using the first UAN number.

The first UAN number was saying unable to authenticate with Aadhar ,when I tried any online process, So I found our that my DOB was wrongly updated. I have given a change request online which is currently in process.

My third company details are not at all updated in this UAN.

All the details ( service history,DOB,name, everything is updated properly by my second company which is linked to the second UAN which was created .Hence, I initiated an online PF withdrawal process 3 days ago from this UAN..It is in progress. But, My pension amount from the second company is still in this account.

I have a few queries. Please help me.
The problem I’m facing is that my first and third companies are using the first UAN which was created.

Request your help with the following things.
Firstly, I would like to maintain only one UAN account.combining all the pension and PF accounts in one place.

Secondly , as I mentioned, the service history details are not updated at all by the third company in the first UAN account. The first er UAN number is displayed in my payslip , so I know this is the account they have been using. But the EPFO profile does not show any detail about my work experience in the third company.

Lastly, How do I transfer my PF and Pension online from the first to the third company account.
That is after the third company details are updated in the UAN account, how do I transfer online my PF and pension to the third company’s account.

Also, I have my pension remaining in my second UAN. What do I do about this.
Should I move it to the first UAN ?? or just leave it in the second UAN.

    Thanks,
    Reina

    • dheeraj

      Hi Reina,
Ideally, you should have only one UAN. In case two UANs were issued to you, you should have point out this error to your second company as and when this was come to your notice. Now, you should discuss the whole issue with the new employer (third company’s HR department) and seek their help to resolve this. The partial withdrawal or transfer of PF amount from your accounts will be facilitated by your company’s HR in a better way. As your issue is a complex one, if you try to sort it out on your own, you may have to spend a lot of time and energy over it.
Ensure that all your credentials are in order in your PF accounts and it will help you to ease out the process of partial withdrawal or transfer. But you must seek the help of your current company’s HR.

    Hi Deeraj,
Thank you very much for a detailed information in simple words. Very Helpful.

    I have 2 queries:

    1) I am not working from last 8 months and want to withdraw my PF amount, but as I am clicking on claim request
it’s showing “Multiple ID’s found to your UAN”.

    2) In my company details joining date is mentioned but exit date is not mentioned, do I need to ask previous employer’s
    to do so ?

Waiting for your reply. Thank you.

    • dheeraj

      Hi Richa,
      Thanks for your feedback.
So far I understand, you may have worked in more than one organisation and therefore you will have more than one EPF account. So ensure that all accounts are now linked to the same UAN. For this you may have to transfer your earlier accounts to the current one.
And, you must ask your previous company to mention the date of exit in PF records. Without it, the EPFO doesn’t process the withdrawal request.
Do tell me if you come across any other difficulty.
      Best.

  • Shueab Rizvi

    Hi Dheeraj,

I have submitted Form 19 . Should I have to Submit Form 10 C also or Form 19 is sufficient for complete PF with drawl.

    • dheeraj

      Hi Shueab,
Form 19 is for full withdrawal of PF money. Form 10C is for full withdrawal of EPS money. If you want to withdraw the EPS money as well, you should fill the form 10C. But remember that EPS money can be withdrawn only if you would not have completed 10 years of service. If your service is more than 10 years, EPS money will be paid to you only at the retirement in the form of pension.
At the same time, if you want to partially withdraw the PF money, you should fill form 31.
So now, you can decide yourself which forms will be appropriate for you to be filled. Hope it will be of help.
      Thanks

  • Varun Atul Vashishtha

    Hey Dheeraj,

I had applied for Final settlement on 27th November online with Aadhar Seeding. Since 29th November the claim status is being displayed as ‘Claim Settled’, I also checked my EPF passbook and now it shows the amount has been withdrawn and balance is 0. However, I still haven’t received the money in my Bank Account.

Any idea how long it will take. Also, what does the status ‘Claim Settled’ means?

    • dheeraj

      Hi Varun,
‘Claim Settled’ just means that the claim has been approved and sent for the next stage. It doesn’t mean that the amount has been paid to you.It will take some days for the amount to be credited in your account. Please wait.

          Hi Varun,

Congratulations for the pure reason that you got your money very fast. Obviously, your documentations were in excellent conditions that’s why you didn’t have to wait longer. I guess, now you can help others to make them aware about how to go for PF withdrawal.

I have not completed 10 years of service. I am not involved in any job as of now.

            How do i process this?

    Hi Deeraj,
Thank you very much for a detailed information in simple words. Very Helpful.

    I have 2 queries,

1.I would like to know that, how much Tax they will deduct if we claim the full settlement for PF before completion of 5 years service.

    2. And is there any ways to save the tax( I heard about Form 15G, What it is?)

3.And for full settlement we will get all the contribution from our side, employer side and Pension, am I correct?

Waiting for your reply. Thank you.

    • dheeraj

      Hi Sudheer,

      1) The tax will be deducted as per current tax rate. But the process is a bit complex as your PF amount consists of 4 elements. (Details are given in my article: http://moneyinvestingidea.com/pf-withdrawal-after-leaving-job/). Please go through it.
      2) If your taxable income is more than 2.5 lakh per annum, form 15G will not be able to help you. This form is just a mandate that you will calculate the tax on your own and will deposit it. It is just to avoid TDS, not tax.
      3) Yeah, you will get all the amount deposited but only after two months since your last job and if you are not with any employer registered with EPFO.

      Hope it will help you.
      Thanks

Hope you don’t mind to answer my queries.
            Thank you.

            Regards,

          • dheeraj

            Hi Sudheer,
Thanks for your trust in me.
First of all, you should remember that you can withdraw full amount from your PF account only if you are not in employment for two months after leaving the previous organisation. So if you haven’t applied for PF withdrawal so far, it will be better for you to transfer the old account to the new one. This process can be done by your current employer as well. Just give them the necessary details and they must help you to transfer the old account to the new one. Rest assured that the transfer will include your and employer’s contributions as well as pension amount. My suggestion will be to go with transfer rather than withdraw unless you are in dire need of money.

During online PF withdrawal from the current company I am getting error ‘ multiple member ID found, please transfer all the money from previous account.

I had already withdrawn funds from previous company. Previous company had also confirmed that there is no amount left in the account.

    What should I do now?

    • dheeraj

      Hi Krishna,
You should give an application to the PF department to rectify the error. In this, you should take the help of your existing employer’s HR department. It may take time so you should follow it on a regular basis.

      Best.

  • Sandy

    Hi Dheeraj,

First of all, Thanks for valuable information.

So as per the above instructions, if my Aadhar is linked then do i need to submit a scanned copy of filled Composite Claim Form (Aadhaar) while claiming online through the EPFO portal.

Where to find an option to upload the form which you have suggested by referring the Composite Claim Form (Aadhaar)

    Thanks,
    Sandy

    • dheeraj

      Hi Sandy,
      Thanks for your feedback.
You can submit your claim online using the Aadhaar composite claim form. The online version will be pre-filled with your basic information since you would be able to access it only after logging in to the EPF member portal (http://bit.ly/2q1pHG6). You will then have to select the type of withdrawal you wish to make. But right now it may be required to take the print out of that composite form and deposit it to office. But no other document is required to submit.

      • Sandy

        Hi Dheeraj,

        Thanks for clarifying me

so, only main applicant is supposed to submit the form at the Office? or my any of colleague/friend can also submit.
I am currently in another city for few months on project criticality, but want to withdraw my money from previous employer (Bangalore) as it has been exceeded 60 days and the Pf amount is much needed for me since i am struggling with emergency.

Kindly guide me, Thanks for the appropriate guidance.

        Thanks,
        Sandy

        • dheeraj

          Hi Sandy,
          Thanks for your kind words.
I would suggest you to try submitting the claim form (form 19) online as EPFO claims it provides this facility. Just remember that you should have your UAN and your PAN, Aadhaar number and Bank account details should be linked with your PF account. If you meet all the criteria, there shouldn’t be any problem. Go through it and then tell me, if any other problem arises. I will try to help you with the possible solution of that problem.

According to the EPFO, the process will be as follows:-
          1) EPF Subscribers with activated UAN (Universal Account Number) and their EPF account seeded with Aadhaar can submit online claims for final settlement, pension withdrawal benefit or part withdrawal of PF. The PAN details of the subscriber should also be seeded in the EPFO database if their service period is lower than 5 years.
          2) Subscribers should sign in at EPF’s member interface with their UAN credentials.
          3) They can select the claim they need settled, and authenticate the same with the help of an OTP (one-time password) received at their mobile number registered with Aadhaar to complete the claim submission.
          4) Once submitted, the claim goes to EPFO database where it is processed, and the sum gets credited to the subscriber’s bank account.

          best.

          • Sandy

            Hi Dheeraj,

            Wow!!

Really appreciative your responses and the efforts towards strange individuals.

Grand thanks to you for such great assistance.

Well, I just checked my UAN account, i can only find the Aadhaar is linked, not Bank and PAN details into the KYC section, and i am not able to add myself onto the portal.

Since, i quite the ex-employer, Neither i might be able to request them to add nor they are interested to add my IDs for their ex employee since they reject every request of mine with regards PF query.

So, do i need to fill manually Form19/10C with 1rs stamp and signature and courier to the HR head for further signature and Company Stamp on the documents. So that, Later, after requesting them, they can submit to EPFO office ?

Is this something likely going to happen with me ??

            Thanks,
            Sandeep

          • dheeraj

            Hi Sandy,
Thanks for appreciation. My purpose is only to help you people as much as I can.
So far your case is concerned, I would suggest you to take the help of your ex-colleague (in your old company) to do this on your behalf. My experience is that such works can be completed faster only with human effort so try to find a person (who is your well-wisher and) who has a good rapport with the HR and request him to help you. If your employer updates the Bank & PAN details, you will have no need to go to them again for the withdrawal process. So in stead of submitting form 19 right now, try to update your KYC details.
Hope it will be of your help.
            Thanks

    Hi ,

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I have applied for pf withdrawal Form submission on Nov 10 ,2017. Can you please let me know how long it will take to credit into my account.

    • dheeraj

      Hi Nidhi,
      Thanks for your feedback.
After your application for PF withdrawal, you must have got a reply from the EPFO having your application reference number. You can ask on the EPFO helpline or check on their website about your payment status. Though the EPFO has stipulated the time to 10 working days, but its government agency after all. You may have to wait a little longer.

      Hi Nithya,
      Thanks for your feedback.
So far your PF withdrawal application is concerned, the EPFO has stipulated the period for settlement as 10 days. Therefore, I expect that within next 10 working days your withdrawn money will be in your bank account, provided all the details are therein.

          Hi Vijay,
You can lose your mobile, but you can recover your mobile number. Contact your telecom operator or any SIM seller and buy the new SIM card with the same mobile number. After that you can access all your PF account details. If you change your mobile number, you will have to do a lot of paperwork to change the same in UAN, PAN & Aadhaar.
